The Speaker I Keep in the Shower
JBL Go 4 Portable speaker. $50My evening shower routine is like a ritual. I turn on the dim lights, maybe light a candle, and turn on my Quiet Storm station on Pandora.
The JBL Go 4 has become part of that routine. It stays in the shower niche, small enough to remain out of the way but with enough sound for the room. It’s rated IP67, so I don’t worry about the occasional splash.
The battery is the real limitation. It lasts up to seven hours, with Playtime Boost adding about two more. I wouldn’t choose it for a long day outdoors, but in the bathroom that doesn’t matter. I charge it about once a week, and it’s ready when I need it.

Still Looking
An honest search for a candle worth repurchasing.
Voluspa Baltic AmberThe jar is beautiful and looks right on my dresser. At $38, it felt reasonably priced, especially since I can see reusing the jar as a vase or container once the candle is finished.
I was disappointed by the scent at first. In my standard-size bedroom, it was lighter than I expected. I am used to candles with a stronger throw, and this one did not announce itself. I immediately decided it would not be a repurchase.
Then I let it burn for a few hours and changed my mind a little. When I left the room and came back, I could smell it. More importantly, I could keep it burning without getting a headache or growing tired of the scent. I liked having the warmth of a candle in the room without the fragrance taking over.
I am not convinced Baltic Amber is the candle for me. But it is no longer an immediate no. The search continues.
