Disclosure
Satchel Lane sometimes recommends things — books, objects, places, tools — and some of those recommendations use affiliate links. Here's what that means and, more importantly, what it doesn't.
What an affiliate link is
If you buy something through one of our links, we may earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra. The price is the same whether you use our link or not.
What it doesn't mean
It doesn't mean we were paid to recommend something. Nothing earns a place in Satchel Lane because it pays — a recommendation has to hold up on its own first. If a commission were the reason a thing appeared here, that would be the exact noise this publication exists to cut through. Commercial value never decides editorial value. We'd rather lose the commission than lose your trust.
Where a piece contains affiliate links, we say so plainly, near the links themselves — so you always know before you click.
If a relationship is ever anything more than a standard affiliate link — a product sent to us, a paid partnership — we tell you clearly and specifically, in that piece.
